My Biography

I love shooting photography. And after 23 years of doing my job, I still love to going to work to do what I do best. Take Photos!

Hi, I am Lorraine and I would like to thank you for visiting my website, below you find a little something about myself and my family.

I was born in Germany into a British Army family spending time in Gibraltar and Northern Ireland before finally settling in Leeds, England. When I finished school I attended Leeds University studying photography. After leaving University in 1987 I joined Princess Cruises spending 10 wonderful years traveling the world, one of my placements was on board the Star Princess - which some of you will know as the “Love Boat” from the hit TV series of the 70’s and 80’s – this is where I met Ian who became my husband, we married in 1997, and settled in my home town Leeds, a year later Sydney was born and 19 months later Brianna completed our family.

Ian and I are both thoroughly enjoy our jobs, having spent 10 years doing 14 hours days on board ships, we wanted to run our own businesses, Ian bought a DHL Franchise and I set up my own Photographic Studio in Leeds called Lasting Impressions photography, specializing in weddings and children’s portraiture, I enjoyed 9 amazing years photographing over 300 weddings and shooting some 10,000 school/kindergarten children.

Having spent so much time in the USA while on the ships and having a home in Kissimmee we decide that we want a permanent move to Florida, so 6 years ago I set about training my sister to take over and run my business, We arrived in Cape Coral in March 2006 when Ian bought a security business, Sydney and Brianna quickly settled into a local school, all of us making many new friends along the way, we love the relaxed lifestyle and weather and moving here is the best decision we have ever made.

I am a parent volunteer at Sydney’s and Brianna school and recently won Volunteer of the year for the whole of Lee County schools, while volunteering in school I was asked to take photographs and help with the year book, the result of which received compliments from teachers and parents, most knew that I had run my own photography business in the UK and some asked me to photograph them, doing this prompted me to look at once again having my own business, which is why I started Lorraine Mason Photography.

I love taking pictures. After 23 years of being photography, I still love going to work to do what I do best “Capturing Memories”.
